We recently became aware of an amazing non-profit that meets incredible need in Melbourne and Palm Bay communities. South Brevard Sharing Center (SBSC) is about treating people with dignity and respect by providing a haven for those who struggle to meet their basic needs. The Sharing Center was founded in 1971 as a non-profit, community based agency for charitable and philanthropic purposes.
The general nature and purpose of this organization is to provide short-term emergency assistance to needy individuals and families, in the Brevard County Area where Federal, State, and County funds are not available.
The South Brevard Sharing Center helps those who struggle to meet their basic needs.
The assistance given includes food, household and hygiene items and furniture. Emergency assistance with rent and utilities is provided to qualifying client households based on fund availability. Referrals are accepted from all area agencies and religious organizations. The Sharing Center is run with only an 8% administrative cost! That means that a large portion of your donations go directly to the people that desperately need your help.
The Sharing Center is designed to provide emergency aid including help with food, clothing, household items and furniture for those in need. Referrals are accepted from all area agencies and religious organizations. SBSC has three locations in Melbourne and Palm Bay, Florida.
