Sea Turtle Nesting Season will soon be upon us, and that means all properties by the beach need to be reviewed for compliance with county and lighting ordinances. The Brevard coast reports the highest number of loggerhead and green sea turtle nesting in the United States, so it’s critical to the sea turtle’s environment that they are not exposed to artificial light.
Mission Clean Beaches was created to bring light to the negative impacts of marine debris, especially to our wildlife through public outreach, education, action, and advocacy.
This program, the Sea Turtle Emergency Response Program, has been developed to provide better beach coverage to search for and rescue post-hatchling sea turtles that have washed back ashore after a large storm event.
